A Yasmin Ahmad Retrospective: Contemporary Malaysian Cinema

This program presents films by Yasmin Ahmad, one of Malaysia's leading
female filmmakers. Ms. Ahmad, a recent award winner at the Berlin

International Film Festival, will be present at selected screenings to
discuss her films and the state of contemporary Malaysian cinema. She
will be joined by her producer, Elyna Shukri (Sepet, Gubra). All films will
be screened at the Doris Duke Theatre, Honolulu Academy of Arts and will
be free and open to the public.
